Victorias Secret Swim 2012

OK, I know this makes 4 Victorias Secret posts in a row...
But this one I found quite funny...
Its advertising swimwear...
Please note how many times you actually look at the swimwear

ORDERING COFFEE OVERSEAS, ITALY&FRANCE

Something that every coffee lover needs to know is how to order his or her favourite in another language.

Here is a simple cheat sheet to refer to:

Italian                      French                    What to say             Pronounced

Espresso                  Cafe                        Cafe                        Ca-fay
Cappucino               Cafe Creme            Un Creme               Uhn Khrem
Macchiate                Noisette                  Une Noisette           Eywoon Nuh-wah-zet

Italian:

(one) espresso please, thankyou

When I was last in Paris, 2011

IPAD COMMERCIAL ~ FRENCH

I was in Paris when I saw the Ipad commercial, and laughed when I saw them using a Vespa to make the Ipad look cooler....as if it needed help.

The thing with an Ipad is you think, 'what do I need an Ipad for?', but after you have one, that mentality is over.

How to take Coffee at home. NESPRESSO AND LAVAZZA

I love an espresso.

The best machine, I find, Nespresso.

I have an Nespresso machine and love it. The best money spent.

With 16 different blends
the perfect espresso everytime
each with distinctly individual characters and aromatic profiles.

PURE ORIGIN
  • New Dulsão do Brasil
  • Indriya from India
  • Rosabaya de Colombia
ESPRESSO RANGE
  • Ristretto
  • Arpeggio
  • Roma
  • Decaffeinato Intenso
  • Livanto
  • Capriccio
  • Volluto
  • Cosi
  • Decaffeinato
LUNGO RANGE
  • Fortissio Lungo
  • Vivalto Lungo
  • New Finezzo Lungo
  • Decaffeinato Lungo

This is closely followed by the Lavazza machine.
One of the most catchy things about the Lavazza, is has brilliant advertising campaigns...

FRED PERRY 100th ANNIVERSARY VESPA

To celebrate their 100th anniversary in 2009, Fred Perry teamed with Piaggio to create a limited edition Vespa.

Limited to only 100 pieces, the Vespa features the iconic Fred PErry branding throughout, including the world famous logo and tipping stripes, and is only available in the UK US France and Japan fro August.

Yeah I know its a few years ago but its too cool not to share.

Fashion Week ~ Sydney Day 1

The fashion world descended on Circular Quay yesterday for the start of the Mercedes Benz Fashion week.  A mix of established labels and emerging Australian designers cam out, Day 1 opening with Romance Was Bored and closing with Ginger and Smart. A great start to what is going to be a week packed with first class fashion shows and street style spotting.

ROMANCE WAS BORN

A collection that was a collaboration with Marvel. The same comic book Marvel. Bold comic book prints, punchy prints and sequin detailing fit for a superhero.
A Liechtenstein like set was the backdrop for the show. The models wrapped in striking black and white and pop-colour graphic prints.

The hair was reminiscent of David Bowie in his Ziggy Stardust days.
This was one of the most widely anticipated shows on the schedule, and they didn't disappoint.

LISA MAREE
Opening with an opera singer and a dramatic spotlight show, the swimwear heavy on the crochet and pastel prints.

GARY BIGENI
Draped silhouettes were up, a strong structuring and tight aesthetic, colours that popped with blues ranging from cobalt to sweet and fluffy pale. He combined with elegant and versatile nude and blush shades. I place a bet, as did most, that this is going to be one of the more commercial colelcitons of the week.

KIRRILY JOHNSTON
Roman gypsies were the inspiration for the offsite presentation at Neild Avenue. Mixing femininity and strength.

DYLAN COOPER
The Project Runway winner presented his debut collection in The Box. Full of prints, frills, and neon collars, it was feminine with a bit of edge.

MANNING CARTELL
The evening shows started with Manning Cartell in a church. This saw hot pink trousers, royal purple and sapphire accents, and copious models in white in a big finish. I'm sure many girls were worshiping at her alter by the end of the night.

AURELIO COSTARELLA
As always, exceptional tailoring was Aurelio Costarella...

WHITNEY PORT
Whitney Port launched collections Whiney Eve & WE by Whitney Eve.
Innovative new venue The Box, boxy Manhatten-inspirted pieces featured along side her signature party dresses.

KSUBI
Ksubi collection was unveiled in a whirlwind of energy. Oversized pieces and hooded layers, layered denim and monochrome hawaiian prints proved the standouts.

GINGER AND SMART
Ginger and Smart wrapped up Day 1 with their 10 year anniversary show and a star studded after party. A fitting end to the day.

MBFF Maybelline PR LAUNCH

26 April marks the PR Launch for Maybelline for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival, (the main sponser)

I stumbled across the event in Angel Place, Sydney CBD this morning.

For the launch, Maybelline NY brought out NY street artist KR, from KRINK. Strange?

Articles are saying that Maybelline NY and the KR collaboration "... equates to trendy meeting trendy to present trendy."
OK.

Maybelline NY ambassador Ruby Rose was there, helping to "Translate catwalk to sidewalk".

KR, the founder of KRINK, is known for his signature drippy paint style. KR's focus on the nature and colour of his medium, rather than on the pictorial and figurative elements of art making.

Yes the colour palette is inspired by the on-trend colour pallet due to be launched by Maybelline in the Mercedes Benz Fashion week... but lets be honest about this... its dripping paint.

KR, the founder of KRINK says "All of my work is influenced by the surrounding urban environment, with the monolithic installation utilising architecture as sculpture. My work is an evolution and expression of my city roots, with everything from the tools that I use, to the way that paint falls on the surface. By re-purposing existing tools, a simple object like a fire extinguisher, I've evolved my work from graffiti to fine art with the drip paint aesthetic becoming known as my signature style. The collaboration with Maybelline NY will bring New York City energy and vitality to the streets of Sydney."
Are you talking about the same dripping paint that I'm looking at?

I talk big, but it does look pretty cool.

Yes he's worked with Mini, Yes he's worked with Absolut, Levi's and a whole heap of other brands.... but it is just dripping paint... I want to quote Mugatu...

But seriously, he's getting paid to do what he loves and that's awesome. I love the fact that street art is being brought into the limelight and given its moment.

(NOTE: the guys face on the right.)
Guy on Right: Is that it? Is that all he's going to do?
Guy on Left: Yep. *chuckles*
Guy on Right:  Really?

All jokes aside, This is where people say, "you're just jealous".
Hells yes I'm jealous. What an amazing job!
Keep up the good work KR.

GQ INTERVIEW WITH CRAZY STUPID LOVE COSTUME DESIGNER

We've all seen the movie, and if you haven't, you should.
One of the best parts, the makeover scene. Romantic comedies are infamous for the 'makeover scene', but that is usually for girls... For once we see one on a man.  Watch it and learn boys...

Below is the link GQ interview with Dayna Pink, the costume designer behind the style transformation.
I thought I would take it and put it up for you to read.
